Direct Mailers: Reflecting on It More

This week we got to spend more time on our direct mailer and start a new one. My first one was designed for possible concurrent students. Here is what I have on that right now.

This week I focused on my second direct mailer. I focused this project on the parents of the possible concurrent students. I am really happy with how this one turned out.

I had a clear idea with how I wanted it to look, and it turned out almost exactly as I imagined. I did go though several versions to get something that was more satisfying to the eye than my first design. There are still some things I want to do to fix this design, but I am pretty satisfied with it.

This second stakeholder has direct control over what my first stakeholder decides. The high school students are still depending on their parents for financial stability. I appealed to the financial benefits in my direct mailer to the parents. Where as in the direct mailers to the students, I focused more on the experience.

These projects have been in Photoshop, whereas the last one was in InDesign. I think I enjoy Photoshop more than InDesign. The two are very similar though. The tools are easy to use and find. I still have to look up how to do some of the things I want to. InDesign gets a little more in-depth with the design part of a project. Photoshop is more of an alteration of what you already have. I am excited to continue using both programs and learning some valuable skills.
